Dayna Maeder, Attorney at Law, practices appellate law in a wide range of civil subject areas, with a focus on family law, dependency law, adoption law, and contract disputes. She offers attorney clients litigation support and trial preparation, including consulting on complex cases, drafting intricate motions, and performing extensive research.
A native Floridian, Dayna grew up in south and central Florida. She graduated from Dr. Phillips High School and earned her undergraduate degree summa cum laude from University of Central Florida, concentrating in interdisciplinary studies including English literature, journalism, mass communications, and sociology.
Dayna previously worked in civil liability defense, insurance defense, and employment law. She graduated from Florida State University College of Law where she gained valuable experience as a Certified Legal Intern at the Public Interest Law Center. There, she represented indigent clients and children in prison. Dayna also received the Distinguished Pro Bono Service certificate for her legal education efforts and her pro bono litigation and trial work. She was a teaching assistant in the school’s Juris Master program, where she worked in both Health Care Fraud and Abuse, and Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance courses.
Dayna serves on the Florida Bar Journal editorial board and is a member of the Florida Bar Appellate Practice Section, where she was the 2020-2022 Appellate Fellow. She is a Florida Supreme Court certified family law mediator. She also volunteers at the pro bono family clinic through Florida Rural Legal Services, Inc. Dayna teaches legal writing at Florida International University as an adjunct professor.
